How to Get my GTBank Statement of Account

In this article, we will show you how to request for your GTBank statement of account from the comfort of your home or office.

GTBank or GTB is the short form for Guaranty Trust Bank. While writing this article, we will use the term GTBank and GTB interchangeably.

What is a Statement of Account?

A bank statement of account is a piece of document that shows all your banking transactions within a period of time.

Some organizations may request to see your statement of account when you want to borrow a loan; it could also be requested at the embassy when you are applying for a visa.

As a Guaranty Trust Bank customer, you do not have to go to the Banking hall to request for your GTbank statement of account.

You can get your GTBank statement of account through the GTB internet banking platform or GTBank mobile app.

How to Get GTBank Statement of Account via Internet Banking

You can request for your statement of account via the GTB internet banking platform.

If you are a Guaranty trust bank customer and you do not have access to internet banking yet, check our article on how to register for GTBank internet banking.

Follow the steps below to get your GTB account statement;

Step 1: Visit the GTBank Internet banking login page.

Step 2: Enter your Internet Banking login details to access the GTB internet banking features.

Step 3: Click on “Proceed to Internet Banking” when you get to the Onboarding page.

Step 4: Click on “My Accounts”.

Step 5: Select “Account Statement” from the list of options.

Step 6: Select the period of transactions you want to see.

If you have multiple accounts with the bank, also select which of the account statement you want.

Step 7: Click on “Generate” to Generate your GTbank Statement of account.

Once you click on generate, your statement of account for the time frame you chose will display.

Step 8: Export your GTBank statement of account by selecting either the excel or PDF format in the options available.

Note: If the period you chose is above six months, the statement of account will be sent to your email.

Step 9: Click on “Export Statement”.

Immediately you do this, your GTB statement of account will be downloaded to your computer.

How to Send your GTBank Statement of Account to an Embassy/Third Party

Some organizations like embassies may want your statement of account sent directly by the bank.

This is usually done to prevent any form of alteration on the statement of account.

Here’s how to send your GTBank statement of account to an embassy or other third party.

Step 1: Visit the GTBank internet banking login page.

Step 2: Enter your login details and click login

Step 3: Click on “Proceed to Internet Banking” when you get to the Onboarding page.

Step 4: Click on my accounts.

Step 5: Select send statement to embassy or send statement to third party from the list of options.

Step 6: Click on new request.

Step 7: Fill the form by selecting the options that is applicable to you.

Here are explanations of some of the terminologies used in the form;

Destination: This is the embassy or third party where you want Guranty trust bank to send your statement of account to.

Roles: Select the part you are playing for the reason you are sending the statement of account.

There are three options ranging from Applicant, Sponsor or Guarantor.

This option is mostly used when sending statement of accounts to embassies.

Start date: This is the date you want your statement of account to start showing from

End date: This is the date you want the transaction to end on the statement of account.

Applicant(s): If you selected sponsor or guarantor in the roles option, you need to enter the full name or names of people you are standing for.

Statement of account: If you have multiple accounts, select the account number from which you want the statement of account to come from.

Account to Debit: You will be charged for this service. If yoj have multiple accounts with Guaranty trust bank, you have to select which account you want the service charge to be debited from.

Answer your secret Question: Enter the Answer to your secret question.

Step 8: Once you are done with filling the form, click on submit.

Step 9: Press the white button on your GTBank hardware token. If you don’t have a hardware token, dial *737*7# on the phone number connected to your GTBank account.

Step 10: Press the submit button.

Once you complete this step, you will be charged and your GTBank statement of account will be sent to the embassy or third party that you selected earlier.

Guaranty trust bank charges 20 Naira per page for physical copies of the statement of account.

How to Request for Gtbank Statement of Account via Mobile App

For this tutorial, we will use the GTWORLD mobile app from Guaranty Trust Bank.

Step 1: Open the GTWorld mobile app.

Step 2: Log in to the GTWorld mobile app. The login details are the same as the GTB internet banking.

Step 3: Slide to the next page to see the Account Statement option.

Step 4: Click on the Account Statement Option.

Step 6: Choose the account and time frame you want the statement of account to show.

Step 7: Click on Send Statement.

With all things going well, the statement of account will be sent to your email address.
